VIDEO: Andre Ayew delivers another Swansea win at Luton Town
Ghana’s Andre Ayew proved the saviour once more as he scored his 10th goal of the season to ensure Swansea City beat Luton Town 1-0 away Saturday afternoon.
The Black Stars captain scored an unconventional late winner, popping up at the end of a deflected cross to chest the ball into the net from close range eight minutes from time –and that proved the difference as the Swans secured back-to-back English Championship victories to move into the play-off spots.
A relatively even contest at Kenilworth Road exploded into life in the second half, with Harry Cornick and Andrew Shinnie having chances for The Hatters while Ayew, Bersant Celina, Tom Carroll and Borja Baston all wasted opportunities for Steve Cooper’s side.
But Ayew was on hand to notch his eighth league goal of the season eight minute from time to earn his side all three points in what was a thrilling league encounter in Bedfordshire.
Swansea have now stretched their unbeaten run to three games, with Cooper’s men going into Christmas having collected seven points from the last nine on offer.
