Ghanaian boxer Sulemanu Tetteh has advanced to the round of 16 after winning via a split decision against Marte de la Rosa Rodrigo in the Flyweight division at the ongoing 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Tetteh scored a 3-2 decision from the judges over the Dominican in the early hours of Monday.
The Black Bombers captain trailed in three of the five judges scoring in the first round.
He rallied to record majority scorings from the judges in the last two rounds and was eventually declared a 3-2 split decision winner.
The London 2012 Olympian progresses to the Round of 16 and a step closer to the medal zone.
