The Confederation of African Football (Caf) has confirmed Congo’s withdrawal from the 2022 U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifying.
After Nigeria’s 4-0 victory against Congo in Brazzaville, the return leg was scheduled for 17 December 2021 in Lagos.
In a correspondence to Caf, the Congo Football Association (FECOFOOT) expressed their inability to take part in the next match due to travel challenges.
Therefore, the match is canceled, and Nigeria automatically qualified for the next round.
The return fixture was scheduled to come off at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena Lagos on December 18.
Congo defeated Egypt 4-2 on aggregate to reach the third round of qualifying.
