2023 African Games: Contractor working on hosting facilities urged to increase workforce

Ghana’s Minister for Youth and Sports has urged the contractor working on the hosting facilities for the 2023 African Games to increase his workforce.

This was after Mistapha Ussif toured the hosting sites for the 13th edition of the multisport event scheduled to be held in Accra.

The Minister was not happy with the progress of work at the Borteyman Sports Complex, where there will be swimming pools and warm up tracks.

“My appeal to you is that, you need to increase your workforce and your machinery so that cocurrently the four foundations would be word on,” he said.

“I am very excited, but I would have been more excited if the four areas are being worked on, like the foundation, I would have been more excited.

“I want you to assure us that in our next visit, those four areas would be worked on.”

The University Of Ghana Sports Stadium that is under construction will be the center of the games while Borteyman Sports Complex will house auxiliary facilities.
